FAQs

Welcome to our FAQ page! Here, we’ve gathered some of the most common questions our clients ask. Whether you’re new to therapy or looking to learn more about the services we offer, this page is designed to provide you with clear and helpful information. If you don’t find the answer you’re looking for, feel free to get in touch with us directly—we’re always happy to help and ensure you have the support you need.

  • Confidentiality is a fundamental part of our work. Your therapist will not share any details of your sessions without your consent. However, there are rare exceptions where confidentiality may need to be broken—such as if there is a serious risk of harm to yourself, someone else, or a child. In these cases, we will always try to discuss this with you before contacting the relevant services, such as your GP or emergency support.

As part of professional best practice, therapists discuss their work with a clinical supervisor to ensure the highest quality care. These discussions are strictly confidential, and no personal details are shared. If you have any questions about confidentiality, please let us know.

  • The number of sessions varies based on your needs and goals. Some factors that influence this include:

    • The length of time you have been experiencing difficulties

    • The changes you want to achieve

    • Your level of self-awareness and confidence

    • How well the therapy approach suits you

    We offer flexible therapy options:

    • Single Sessions: Sometimes one session is enough to clarify an issue or find a solution.

    • Short-Term Therapy (3-6 sessions): Useful for exploring specific challenges and identifying strategies.

    • Medium-Term Therapy (8-12 sessions): Provides structured support for deeper exploration and change.

    • Long-Term Therapy (24+ sessions): Ideal for addressing complex or long-standing concerns.

    • Flexible & Open-Ended Therapy: Some clients prefer to take breaks between sessions, return when needed, or keep therapy ongoing without a fixed end date.

You are in control of how long you stay in therapy, and we can adjust your sessions as needed.

  • Most clients have weekly sessions at the same time each week, as regularity helps create momentum. However, some people prefer fortnightly sessions, and we also offer ad hoc appointments for those with unpredictable schedules. If you need flexibility, we are happy to accommodate you.

  • Yes! If you know someone who might benefit from therapy, you are welcome to refer them. We suggest they visit our website to learn more about our approach and see if it resonates with them. Research shows that people who make their own appointments are more likely to engage fully in therapy, but if needed, we can assist in booking an appointment on their behalf.
